We thrilled to announce one of Rozetta’s latest members, Science Technology Australia (STA)

STA were welcomed as a new member of Rozetta at its 2023 AGM. STA is Australia’s peak body in science and technology, representing more than 115,000 scientists and technologists. STA has a demonstrable track record in influencing public policy related to science and technology and the various funding programs administered by government.

Their mission is to advance the public good and social and community welfare, and strengthen civil society through education, outreach and programs. They do so to advance the impact of science and technology to help solve some of humanity’s greatest challenges.

STA have a strong commitment to work with Rozetta on skills development to ensure individuals with scientific training also have an opportunity to develop their skills to sit on commercial boards and support commercialisation processes more generally.

Professor Mark Hutchinson, the member representative of STA, is a Future Fellow within the Adelaide Medical School, the Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale BioPhotonics and President of Science and Technology Australia. Mark serves as a founding member of the Operating in Contaminated Environments Advisory Council for the DSTG CBRN STaRShot, is a founding member of the executive of the Animal Welfare Collaborative (TAWC), is the Chair of the Australian Pain Solutions Research Alliance, the co-chair of the Safeguarding Australia through Biotechnology Response and Engagement (SABRE) Alliance, a Ministerial appointment to the Australian Research Council CEO Advisory Council, and one of three eminent academics reviewing the ARC Federal Legislation.

This is a huge step forward, and we look forward to an exciting collaboration with STA.
